I have inserted a audio file over multiple slides. Would
like to 'fade out' the music after a certain number of
slides to keep from having an abrupt audio end. How is
this done within PP2002?

Herb,

PowerPoint doesn't have the ability to do this. You would have to fade the
sound first in some sort of sound/ music editor.

Herb-

An editor that I've used to do this is Goldwave. See goldwave.com. It's
shareware and with a little experimenting and determining your timing, it's
not hard to do what you're trying to accomplish. Pull you file into
Goldwave then when you've done your edit, save it under a different file
name. Dump your original file out of your working directory and insert the
new audio file.

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the level of audio playback control that you are
looking for for inserted sounds.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions as to how
PowerPoint improve it's options for controlling the playback of audio (such
as fade in/out), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
