Audio EQ and Filters

Hi, I'm new to digital video. I have been using my new
Sony camera to record my guitar playing. The one downside
of the less expensive video editing programs is that they
don't have any EQ, filters, etc. for audio. I can import
the audio portion of the video into my Cakewalk audio
editing software and save it as a .wma and add it back to
the video in Windows Movie Maker (muting the camera
created audio). But, it adds a lot of MB to the file
since the original audio is still attached to the video
file. Is there a plug-in that I could add to the WMM
software? Is there another method to allow me to edit the
audio within the WMM environment.
Thanks in advance for the info. I would be happy to talk
to any of you who are musicians about video recording of
your tunes. Don't know that much, but I'd be more than
happy to share what I know so far.
Thanks again.

I'm new to it all also, but at the moment I am using an
old analog camcorder. I am very interested in the filters
as I want to reduce some audio noise (a bzzz sound)
generted from my camcorder whilst capturing. If you get
anywhere with that I would interested in knowing about it
all.

As for your problem, I did the same with a recording of
my wifes live performance (she plays piano & sings). I
actually used a 4-track to record the sound live and
saved it as an MP3 (which will be availale on her website
in a month or two www.apfin.com.au). When recording the
video, you just mute the audio input (BEFORE CAPTURING)so
that you only capture the video, resulting in a much
smaller file size. Then you add the MP3 and the video file
to MM2.

Now as I don't use a digital camera I am not sure if you
have that same option, but is something to look into.
