I am using HP Pavilion zv6000 laptop Vista is unable to find drivers for my
device.
Sound card model is Conexant CX20468 - 31 AC97 Audio.
Device is detected under other devices tab in Device Manager.
Dose any body have answer please post me.

I have same problem with dv5178.

I am no longer surprised that HP produces a "Vista capable" machine that
does not run on Vista. I had to migrate to Vista because mine has
device/driver conflicts (new out of the box - no modifications) that make it
crash when trying to run XP - and HP denies there is a problem. Vista cured
my random crash problem, but I lost my audio and modem.

Same problem with my pavilion dv5135nr, no modem or sound drivers. I ended
up taking off Vista and doing a system restore. Vista Beta 2 looked good,
felt good, ran good, just too beta for that machine.

I'm still using Vista Beta 2 for my work laptop, Compaq nx6110, only problem
with this machine is that my graphics card doesn't support glass even though
it's a dedicated 128MB RAM vid card.

Can't wait for RC1!

Same problem with my dv5118tx. It has Conexant High Definition Audio, but
the Vista installation did not detect it. In fact in the device manager, the
Sound, Video & Game Controller entry does not exist.

It is the support of WDDM/LDDM that makes aero work-no WDDM no aero the video
ram is not the factor.

I have a zv6000, vista seemed to recognize the sound card and install
drivers from windows update.

Same problem. However ...

installed Vista five times, worked twice without any effort, but now it is
not working at all ...

OK...thought this may help someone. I have a Toshiba P105 with the Conexant
High Definition Audio. Upon installing Vista RC1 I got no sound. At first
the driver loaded but I got the Code 10 error stating the driver could not
start. After deinstalling the device I could not get the driver installed. I
searched all the blogs and news boards. I found a lot of people with the
same issue and some recommendations but nothing worked.

Here is what worked for me and I hope it works for you. I tried previously
loading the XP drivers that came with my system and nothing worked. This
time, instead or running the zip file automatically I unpacked it into a
separate folder. I then went in and selected each application file's
properties and set the compatibility to XP SP2. I then went in to the device
and performed a driver update and selected my own location where the modified
files were. The results were it installed immediately and began working
immediately

All I can say is One Challenge Down and Two to Go! Hope that helps someone.

I am using a HP ZV6000 (ZV6149EA) laptop under Windows Vista, but my
soundcard: Conexant CX20468 - 31 AC97 Audio was not detected in the Device
Manager. Now, there's a update available for my soundcard, but I can't
install this because I get this error:
