Audio doesn't sound good.

A while ago my audio stopped sounding good and I don't know why. It seems
like there is a lot more treble than bass. That is, the guitars and high drum
sounds drown out the singer and bass. I've tried updating my sound devices in
Device Manager, but it said there are no updates.

What is my problem?

Rightclick the sound icon in the task bar (probably next to clock) and Open
Volume Control. Click the LEFT Advanced button. If the Advanced button is
not shown, click Options (top left) and check the Advanced Controls.
There you can adjust your Bass and Treble.
That is if your soundcard supports these features. Click Close.

Apparently my soundcard doesn't support those features because there is only
an Advanced button for the microphone. Is this definitely related to a bad
balance that was manually made, or could it be something I have enabled or
don't have installed?

Looks like you do not have that feature for your soundcard. Or..............
try reinstalling the drivers from the accompanying CD you got with your PC.
Sometimes all drivers are not installed by the vendors.
