Have you downloaded and installed the WinXP-specific audio drivers, as
provided by your sound card's manufacturer?

looks like you may be using on board soundand usually is . You might try
using the Wizard to upgrade your sound, and re-install drivers. Xp usually
can find your drivers, and if you have the disc that came with your set, put
that in your CD rom, and then use search, when checking for drivers, click on
search for cd and internet!!

Simply check the version and brand of motherboard you have and go to their
website to download the sound driver if you have an onboard sound port. If
it is a soundcard installed in an expansion slot, then it should be in the
CD that came with the card. If you can't find the card, go to their
manufacturer website to download it and install it.
