What happens when you try to open them in WMP? Does WMP offer to go
online and look for the necessary codec?

yes it offers to find but cannot

I'm using WMP Version 10 and it plays .cda files with no problems. I'm
pretty sure the .cda format is what all music CDs are.

Maybe try a fresh install of WMP?

Maybe

Have played about with (codec's) and the 19 CDA files on the CD___the
complete CD is under a 1Kb in size making each file approx. 40 bytes
each___now I can play them all___but not if I transfer to my HDD, I believe
that this is normal, that these files can only be played from the
CD__________Well at least they now play __Thanks from bill in OZ

It's impossible a complete CD is under 1Kb in size! A 74-minute CD
contains 650 MB of data. I wonder if you're just creating shortcuts!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "transfer to my hard drive." Do you
wish to rip the tracks? You may rip them to lossless .wav files or lossy
..mp3 files. Lossless .flac files are an option, too.

What exactly do you wish to do?

Although lengthy, this page has lots of useful information:

the CD properties are less than 1 Kb with 19 tracks_________I know it is
almost impossible___but it still plays OK___I copied this CD from E-Mule as
MP3 files 2 years ago, and they are now CDA files___Kasey Chambers__
Barricades and Brickwalls__this is my last post on this subject as It is not
going anywhere.
