audio changes when i move clip down to story board/timeline

when i move my clips down to the storyboard and play them the sound is
distorted or has a twinge i can't describe it exactly, but it does change and
will record to the dvd like that. if i play it on the video camera or from
the clips created by movie maker they sound perfect. but as soon as i drag
them down it changes. please help. thanks

Sorry for the previous spam, hit the wrong button. Anyway, I am experiencing
this exact same issue and would like to hear a response from a knowledgeable
resource.

I had this from my pda also when moving video clips in... someone here
mentioned it was not 44khz audio??
