First off my system uses an Asus motherboard. And I am running WIndows
XP professional. I recently bought a Audigy 2 OEM version sound card.
I installed it and all I get is jumbled noises when theres supposed to
be sound.. also it still says theres an unknown PCI-Input device not
installed, even though it is installed. Also when the card is
connected to any pci slot I cant reboot my computer!( I can shutdown
fine but when I reboot it just hangs..) I then installed the card on
another system which was also running windows xp pro AND IT WORKED
FINE! The only difference I could think of was that my machine has an
Nvidia Video Card and an Asus Motherboard, and my chip has
hyperthreading technology. SO... does anyone know how to fix this
problem.... is the card broken? I dont think so... is there a way to
check if my pci slots are broken or something.. any help would be
great. Its been 5 days of tryng to get this damn card working :)

You already know the problem... you said yourself the drivers aren't
installed properly.

the unknown PCI item might be the firewire port, if your oem has it. I've
used my A2 with both Nvidia and ATI cards without a lick of trouble. Pls
consider going to the Creative news server and posting the issue in the
Audigy ng there. Im sure Harvey and others will help out figuring the
problem but it isnt an incompatability with ATI thing as many of us are
using them together quite nicely. The CL news server addy is
news.creative.com and the main ng for a, a2 a2 zs is
Products.Sound_Blaster.Audigy.

You are very unhelpful. You have failed to give us any details on your

system. If the Asus MB has on-board sound, the problem could be as
simple as turning off the on-board sound in BIOS.

And what does the OP have to do with ATi cards?

You have a point. After rereading the OP can't tell whats what. Origonally
reading it I made the mistake of reading and assuming that he was saying it
didnt work on one box with an ATI card but did work on the other and the
diff being the second box had an nvidia card. Now after rereading it it
sounds as tho its the none working box that has an Nvidia card hehe. Wish
ppl would post their system specs when asking for help to avoid such
confusion.
