You had given me some advice about my Antec power supply in some
previous posts. At this point I think I'll be RMA'ing the power
supply, and is there anything I need to be on the lookout for so I
prevent this from happening again? I.e. certain power supply
manufacturers, model numbers, model lines...in reference to your
comment below about the bad capacitor problem infecting the industry.


You can push the probe down the wire into the back of the
connector until it contacts the metal pin thats crimped onto the
wire. You only need to do with that with the 3.3V rail, its easier
to measure the rest at the power connectors for the drives.


Yes, that problem has infested the industry.

The individual responsible should be publicly executed to encourage
the others to be more careful when stealing technology in future |-)

Fraid not, I havent kept track of which manufacturers never
had a problem with bad caps in their power supplys.
