the file path for the trojan i blocked is
c:\windows\svchost.exe. that popup in the bottom right of
my screen keeps popping. it will not allow me to remove
it. even though i highlight it, the remove button is
still inactive

With that path, the file C:\Windows\svchost.exe is definitely malware. I
suggest that you start Windows in Safe Mode, and simply delete it.

Do *not* delete c:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe, which is a legitimate part
of Windows.

You've got a virus in place.

1-866-pcsafety.

If you are elsewhere in the world, the same free help is available, but the
phone call may not be free. Call your local Microsoft office, or the number
for paid Microsoft support in your area, and ask for the free help with
virus or security patch issues.
