I must say thank you to you.

A few days ago I noticed feedback you gave another person concerning
ReInstallations. Since it appeared very likely that I might need to do
the same, I followed the link to your site.

Your advice concerning Critical Updates after a re-installation was
invaluable. Nowhere on the basic Microsoft update page is there any
mention of, or indication of a "Rollup". Had you not mentioned this, I
would have had an major anxiety attack after doing my re-install.
There were over 70 individual updates when I first went to the Update
page! But I had read your page prior to this and was prepared.

And I urge anyone faced with the possibility of a reinstallation fo
follow your advice.

(The repair reinstall that I did, BTW, was totally and completely not
necessary, and in fact counter-productive. I got more actual help from
a civilian in a Dell chat room than from a dozen or more paid support
staff.
A word of advice to Dell users. If you are advised that the only
solution to your problem is a re-install, seek help elsewhere. Their
once highly rated tech support is now completely and totally useless.
End of rant.)

Your advice to use the rollup, and then to limit your downloads to 4
at a time after that was invaluable, and a HUGE anxiety reducer. In
fact after the rollup, which was very quick, there were only 9
critical updates. Whew!

I wish there were people like you employed in actual tech support.
There don't seem to be real technicians employed anywhere anymore. I
mentioned a "modem string" to the last Dell tech I spoke to and he had
absolutely no idea what I was talking about.

But, I digress.

From the brief visit I made to your site, I gained knowledge, simply
and clearly stated, with proper links to carry out the
recommendations. A job well done.

Best wishes and many thanks
