I WOULD LIKE TO PUBLICLY APOLOGIZE FOR POSTING SPAM MESSAGES ON EVERY
DISCCUSSION ON THIS OFFICE BOARD SYSTEM. I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET SOME
SUPPORT FOR MY NEWEST PROJECT. I DIDNT REALIZE THE IMPLICATIONS OF WHAT I WAS
DOING. I WANT TO APOLOGIZE AGAIN FOR POLUTING THESE BOARDS. I AM TRULY SORRY.

TOM or MVPS: can you delete all the posts i entered...or how can i?
TOM: what do you mean you "reported it to comcast"...please dont; i am so sry!

it was bad of you to spam the boards, but good of you to apologize & put an
effort forth to delete the spams...

TOM: take into consideration, he is human & was just trying to get some help
for his non-profit organization...HE SHOULDNT BE PUNISHED WHATSOEVER!

i agree w/ Amy completly...i did a little reserach & discovered there are
lots of other spam (or non-related) posts on these boards. i found 12 of them
in about 2 minutes of searching. i am in my 2nd year of law school & if i am
not mistaken, i believe that would be selective inforcment of public policy.
TOM: THATS A BAD THING! DROP IT!

A 2nd year law student needs to know -

enforcement != inforcment

I doubt anyone could get slapped with a legal action over what has happened
here....

Good heavens, people. This is not a legal matter, nor is it a matter of
"punishment." Tom said he had reported the SPAM to Comcast. That is, he
alerted the ISP of HJ that HJ had SPAMmed a newsgroup. That is a violation
of Netiquette, not any law (thank God the Internet is still relatively
free). What Comcast does in response to this information is entirely up to
them. They are free to take action, by perhaps discontinuing HJ's account,
which is a mutual and voluntary contract between HJ and Comcast, which
either is free to quit at any time, or perhaps to contact HJ, or even do
nothing. HJ is also free, if his account is dropped, to get one with another
ISP.

As to "dropping it," think, dan. Tom said he "reported" the SPAM to Comcast.
Now, while you are a law student, law is all about language, and you should
be aware of the fact that "reported" is in the past tense. He sent them an
email. It cannot be un-sent. And there is nothing to drop. It is a fait
accompli. Or, as that baboon in "The Lion King" once said "It's in the past!
It doesn't matter!"

So, dan, do us all a favor, finish law school, and try not to get involved
in any activities that would entangle the Internet, one of the world's best
and last bastions of freedom, in that goshawful morass we all know as "the
law."

And Amy, we appreciate your compassion, but take a chill pill! Tom knows
what he's doing, and he's been here forever. And remember that it's best to
understand an issue fully before getting involved in it!
