Users can no longer see when others are available when
inviting attendee's to meetings they are putting in their
mailbox calendars. It worked previously and the only
change I am aware of is adding the new Exchange 2003
server to the list of some public folders
under "Replication" to get rid of an old Exchange 5.5
server.

Sounds like you did not replicate the Schedule+ Free/Busy public (system)
folder to the new server. This is where the free/busy information is stored,
so if no one can see anyone else's free/busy information then that folder is
not accessible.

Hope this helps.

I do not see a schedule+ free/busy public folder to
replicate. Where do I find this folder and once
replicated to Exchange 2003 will it still work for the
organization after the old Exchange 5.5 server is de-
commissioned ?

Thanks

.

Here is an article dealing with 5.5-2000 replication of this folder.

322196 XCCC: Outlook Web Access Cannot Retrieve Free-and-Busy Information
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=322196

This should work the same for Exchange 2003. But, to make sure, you might
want to submit a new post with the question: "How to replicate Schedule+
Free Busy folder from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003".

If the Exchange 5.5 server was the "first server in the site" then you will
want to make sure you take it down correctly. I think there is a section on
how this is done in the Exchange 2003 Deployment Guide. Pulling down the
first server correctly is critical so you will want to make sure you have
all the required information before taking it down.

Hope this helps.
