Attempting to boot from hard drive

I have a problem with my Hp compaq i changed the old hard drive with windows 7 and replace with another one with windows 10 and it says attempting boot from harddrive. I don't know what to do please help me

Did you replace the windows 7 hard drive physically with a windows 10 hard drive

or

install windows 10 onto the hard drive that had windows 7 on it?

Simply taking a drive out and replacing it with another drive with a different O/S on it hardly ever works it was exactly the same hardware

Winows 10 has to be installed onto the Harddrive while inserted into the computer. Unless it was an upgrade. Which it seems it was not

I tried to change first it refused I got the same old one installed windows 10 using another computer and bringing back to same computer but still not working

AS I said installing winodws 10 on a different machine with different hardware is not good.

Windows 10 needs to be installed on the hard drive while the hard drive is inserted into that machine.

What are the specifications of the computer you are trying to install windows 10 onto?
