Hello,
This is just an informational message. There were a few messages in
the newsgroups about this but no solutions were posted. The problem
exists with the following:
1) Compaq computer (Deskpro EN)
2) Installed a hard drive with the OS already installed (in this case
XP with NTFS).

After POST (with all of the BIOS messages turned on) it hung with the
message: 'Attempting boot from hard drive c:' . I ran the drive
diagnostics within the BIOS and everything checked out Okay. Booted
using NTFS Read (or something similar) and I could see the files / file
system without a problem. The following was the resolution:
Within the BIOS, under "Storage" and selecting the drive in question,
the value of "Translation Mode" needed to be turned to "Off". The
default was something other than this.

Good luck.
