My son has made damaging alterations to the registry in order to disable
cybersitter. I have made winsock repairs (using freeware
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html) but still all is not well. My
son has confessed to altering Net98 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SECURITY. However
investigation reveals no trace of net 98 at this location. I have no idea
what net98 is or does, what I do know, however is that I want to repair the
damage so that I can enable cybersitter and return the protection that the
younger members of the family need. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You're probably at the point of having to do a clean install or at least a
Repair Install. Be sure to back up anyt data you want to keep; it is easly
to lose it, and a clean install will wipe it all out, though it'll put
things right again. Time for a better net nanny, too, I think.

Time for some more stringent security, IMO. When you reach a point of no
return, I'd tell him he broke it, now fix it. A little pressure from the
others might make an impression on him too.
