When I open Outlook and it opens its folders, I receive the following
message from Business Contact Manager: Attempted to read or write protected
memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Contact
Business Contact Manager Support. You can find contact information in the
Contact Us topic in the Business Contact Manager Help/Help Menu or Business
Contact Manager help.

This results in Outlokk not being able to shutdown correctly, which causes
my .pst file to require repair from scanpst.exe.

Are there any suggestions before I follow the advice to contact BCM support?

Bob Wyatt

Hi Bob

Can you telll me the version of BCM that your running is it BCM V1 or 2.If
your unsure serach for the file irisms32.dll and check the version under
properties. If you are running BCM V1 i would suggest you upgrade to the
lastest version. Also are you logged on as an admin ?

Raul,

I am a member of the administrators group, but I am not administrator...
Version of the .dll is 1.0.2002.8...

I'll see if I can find a newer version for download...

Regards,

Bob

Raul,

I have completed the upgrade...
Version now is 2.0.2107.0.
I told BCM to use the existying database, and every time I start Outlook, I
get:

Finalizing Business Contact Manager...
Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not complete your last action or
actions. Please try again.

I presume this indicates that my file is corrupt?

Regards,

Bob

Well, I hadn't really updated anything in BCM that was critical to me, so I
stopped the service, copied an older version of my database, and restarted
the service. Opening outlook complained about the older file version,
offered to let me change the configuration, which allowed me to do the
migration again, and all is well.

Thanks for the help!

Regards,

Bob
