By default XP is set to block opening of attachments. Can change by going
to Tools>Options...>Security tab in Outlook Express, then unmarking "Do not
allow attachments to be saved or opened..."
I leave the Office install issue to others. There are free readers
available on the Microsoft website, but that's it; just read.

I can't male this thing work as a link. Copy that whole thing as a single
line in the address bar in IE or whatever browser you use. Remember, this
is ONLY a reader; you can't do any editing in it. Should be able to copy
though. I am curious to know if/how this works. God luck.
