attachments

I have Windows 98 and Outlook Express. This past week I upgraded to Microsoft version 6 and now can not open attachments in my email. For example I have an SPSS data file that was sent to me previoiusly as an attachment. I had not had time to save it to my hard drive and now since the upgrade, OE says that it has "removed access" to the attachment

I have looked on the MS website and can not find any reference to this problem. Can someone help? I need to open these types of attachments
 
In Outlook Express , click on Tools, Options, Security then Uncheck "Do
not allow attachments to be ..........."
