attachments

my son sent me an e-mail with attachment, but can not open attachment as it
states the following.( OE removed access to the following unsafe attachment
in your mail, ) i want this attachment can i still access it, and how can i
do that and also why did OE remove it, i am very green to computers, PLEASE
HELP as i need to retreave this attachment athough my son could resend it to
me but i do not want the same thing to happen again. kind regards irene

Sorry this is the MS Access (the database program) newsgroup. Try
a OE newsgroup.

As note elsethread, this is not an OE newsgroup. But, Outlook Express has a
security option that you can unselect.

See Tools | Options and click on the Security tab. Then unselect the
checkbox next to the text about "attachments that may potentially be a
virus".

In addition to what the others have said, unless you are certain that this
is not a virus (call or email your son and ask him if he sent the file)
delete it. The chances are good that any attached file is a virus. I get an
average of 50 a day.

Is that all? <smile> I was at 100 per day a few weeks ago. A few
days ago I had 100 in five hours.
