Microsoft does not send updates by e-mail. If you are subscribed to the
alert service, you will receive notices of new security issues and updates
but Microsoft does not send updates to users by e-mail. It was a good thing
the Outlook Express security kicked in as it is likely what you received,
appeared to be from Microsoft but was not and was a virus.

I am running Window XP PRo with Office XP and I am having trouble receiving
attachments. How do I change the security levels in outlook to allow me to
receive the level 1 or level 2 attachments. The attachments that are being
blocked are patches from Microsoft (e.g. patch398.exe).
Thanks in advance.
