Attachment mysteries

Recently I have been getting emails from a friend that were sent with
attachments and the attachment is missing. The mystery is this - he also
copies a 3rd party on the email and the 3rd party forwards the same email to
me after they get it and it DOES have the attachment!!!! How can that
happen? My friend sends email using MSN service.

As a test could you forward to your self the email that came from the friend
does the attachment show up then.
