attachment icon in mail headings, but no attachments.

Hi, i am getting incoming mail into OE 6 which shows the attachment icon to
the left of some of the mail headings. but when i open the email there is
no attachment. would anyone kindly be able to explain what might be
happening here?

Are you sure it IS an attachment, and not just the ant-virus message?
 
In OE:

Tools > Options > Security tab.

Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved..."

Click Apply > OK. Close and reopen OE.

You should now have access to the attachments.

But, of course, be aware of the risks of opening attachments from ANY source.

A must: an updated AV software with email scanner.
