I'm running IE 6.0 on my laptop which is running XP Home edition. When on
IE and when trying to view a PDF file, the Acrobat 6 doesn't start up. I
get a window with a small box in the upper left corner of the screen that
has a smaller circle, triangle and square in it. I checked to be sure that
the PDF file setting in the Folder Options under Tools in Windows Explorer
is pointing at the Acrobat application. In fact it is: "C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" "%1" (including the quote
marks) that is in that box. Obviously that is where the application resides.
Can someone point me to another possibility as to why the PDF files don't
run, please.

BTW when I double click on a PDF file in Windows Explorer, Acrobat 6 starts
right up and the file is opened nicely.

Thanks in advance.

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are
dull, some
have weird names, and all are different colors but they all have to learn to
live in the same box.

Meena, thanks for the pointer. I didn't know this URL existed. It fixed my
problem in 3 minutes. It is now bookmarked.

Much appreciated
