Can anyone explain how to create a control in a form that will allow, or
require a user to search and then attach a document to the form, which will
be stored in the db. I am running Access 2003 on top of a SQL 2000 db on a
network.

I will appreciate any quidance on this topic as I have seen threads with
similar questions, but, cannot get to the solution.

Regards,

It depends on what you mean my "attatching". I can show you how to let users
look for a file (using a dialog box) and remeber the path to the file
somewhere in the database, or for example copy it to a specified location
(like to the database folder). It can be done using VBA. If your interested,
please reply.

Can you please show this. I have an employee database that I would
like to attach thier resume, in ms word format, to thier record.

Wadim,

Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for. I would like to create it so
that users can search for docs that they have created on their local machine,
attach it to the form, which will save it to a hardcoded location, and to
retain the link in the db.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Layne
