I have spent hours creating a slide show using windows
movie maker but I cannot import any of my purchased audio
tracks from either napster or itunes. What am I doing
wrong?

You have to turn them into mp3's. With Itunes you burn
them to a disc and then up load them into windows media
play, chose your song nd save them in a file to your desk
top. Then you can improt them in. I had that problem,
too, with itunes, that is the down side.

You have to burn them to a CD from iTunes first, then import them with
Windows Media Player (or something else) back to your drive, movie, etc.

In other words, they have to be burned on the CD and imported as an MP3.
There should only be some slight degradation of quality.

This, imho, is the main defect of using iTunes. I like the pay as you go,
but not the inability to convert to MP3 on the fly. Although "Convert to
MP3" can be set in iTunes, one still cannot do so, because iTunes complains
that it cannot do so with "protected" files. Why have the ability to
convert then?

What does Microsoft have in mind when they allow you to import audio? You cannot easily do the Itunes/MP3 thing, and clearly you cannot use music that you have on a CD. Besides recordable audio (your voice or music, I guess), what do they think you should be able to import? There has to be an easier way.
