Attached pdf wont open

pdf file sent as attachment will not open- error message says ".... not
a supported file or file damaged (eg it was sent as an attachment &
wasn't correctly decoded)"
What has to be done to prevent this problem?

Do you have something installed that can read .pdf files such as Acrobat
Reader or Foxit? If not, you need to get one of those programs and
install it and then you'll be able to open .pdf files. If you do and
other .pdf files open correctly, then the attachment you received was
damaged or not a real .pdf files (virus perhaps).

Ask the person who sent it to you what it is and to send it again.
