Hi there

I have no experience with writing batch files and was wondering if it is
possible to write a batch file which will attach a .pst file to a users
profile. Our .pst files are on a seperate server to Exchange, they are not
permissioned and anyone can open them. Secretaries often need access to
several pst files at once and alot of time is wasted visiting their machines
to attach the relevant .pst files. Do you know if this might be possible
using a batch file which I can just email to them?

cheers

This is very hard to realize as the profile information is stored in the
registry. What is the problem for them connecting to the pst-file and what
do you mean by "they are not permissioned and anyone can open them"?
Learning them to go to the location of a batchfile and selecting the right
file or learning them to use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File and selecting
the right pst-file doesn't look to different from my point of view. Is the
*.pst file assosiation with Outlook? In this case you could also provide a
(Startmenu)shortcut to the location of the files so they can (double)click
on it and open the file in Outlook. Either way you have to learn them to
disconnect the pst-file after use because only one person can access a
pst-file at once. Actually my question for you is; What is the real problem
in your situation? To me it sounds like they could use an Outlook lesson.
