attach picture files

Help...something broke.
when i try to attach picture files (paperclip icon) to outlook
e-mails........outlook crashes and freezes. I am using Outlook supplied via
Dell with my PC................as part of works 7.0 .
Also i cant update/repair using Microsoft auto update downloads as it says i
have to use a disc to open files. the disc dell provided for works 7.0
package doesnt assist in this process (even after re-installing the
disc)...?????????

As far as I can tell at Microsoft's Works web site and my own use of Works,
Works 7 does not include Outlook. It contains its own Calendar program, for
example.
