I have no success in recording scheduled TV programs with the 8500 dv card.

I suggest you buy a real TV tuner card. ATI is not the specialist in
this one.

The ATI software is no substitute for a DVR.

It's been that way for years... I remember back in 1998 when I tried
to do a timed TV recording with Multimedia Center. I came home to find
Windows completely locked-up and noting recorded on the hard drive.

Seems like nothing has changed.

I successfully record 7 hours/week (6 in HD) using the dreaded MMC 9.13
using an HDTV Wonder. 9.13 works better than the 9.08 previously. I
don't use Guide Plus but manually program it like a VCR. In the last 8
months, there has been 1 show that got lost -- hour 13 of 24. The
system started but only recorded the audio without the video.

We also use TV On Demand a LOT. Who wouldn't like to skip commercials?
