ATIMMC fails

Finally after many failures, the problem identified itself.

I have the ATI AIW 9800. I've installed blaze media pro many times and removed after trial expired. But never so that I could associate blaze's uninstall with why my ATI TV craps out.

I've tried a rollback, no luck. reinstalled my ATI stuff, reinstalled my Nero stuff, removed my DVD stuff.

the atimmc still fails and shuts the TV off every time.

Every time this has happened, I've had to start from scratch. It's like Blaze is a bull in a china closet removing or overwriting stuff.

Does the check files option exist with XP pro as it did with win 98 ? I really don't want to re-install the OS. But I'm pretty sure it's a systemfile that blaze killed.

Or does anyone else have a fix for this ?

You want System File Checker. In a DOS window type <SFC /SCANNOW>
<enter>. It will need your Windows install disc.

Good luck

I'd run the Cat-uninstaller from the Customer Care webpage. Then reinstall
all the ATI files. Just as likely to be a Registry problem as a file
problem. Good luck.

the previous reply 'scannow' is what I was looking for. This has happenedmany times before. I've tried many different things to restore things toavoid a rollback, or re-install of the OS.

Only thing I can figure is Blaze just removes whatever it wants to when it uninstall's.
