I keep getting a "SRB Command Failed,
SRB_get_device_property" message in Event Viewer when I boot up.

Can someone explain what this means?

I have a AIW 9800 Pro on an Nvidia Nforce2 based system and everything
"seems" to be running ok and two ATI services are running the task mgr
window.

Thanks

Ron M.

Yeah, I'm getting that SAME MESSAGE, and I think its causing all the
lock-ups i've been getting recently, totally randomly. Anyone have any
ideas?

If you check Event Viewer, each group of 20 or so ATi2mtag messages occur at
the same time. The messages coincide with the launching of Media Player
Classic on my machine, and only when playing certain video formats. One
guess is that DXVA is supported in the latest drivers, but my media player
does not officially take advantage of DXVA.

Oh well, if the message is hidden, I couldn't care less about it. I don't go
digging through Event Viewer trying to fix what ain't broken.

I ran into this and I think I finally have it resolved. I tried the
"Driver Cleaner Pro" utility but had no success resolving the issue.
After a LONG process of elimiation of USB devices, the APC UPS I was
using was the culprit. Im not indicating to you that this issue is DUE
to ANY UPS device, although in my case it was. I recommend starting
with your USB devices. Take them out of the loop 1 at a time until the
issue begins to cease. In my case the event ID errors were gone after
simply removing the USB connection from the APC UPS. Next I will try to
hook it back up using the software that they provided. I had no need to
use it previously.

Well, I'm not running a UPS of any sort.

Ever since MS introduced Event Viewer, people started looking at the
"hidden" error messages even when there's nothing wrong with their systems.
