ATi XPERT 98 AGP 2x

I have a ATi XPERT 98 AGP 2x, and have purchased a new LCD IIyama
Prolite 17" Monitor, they dont seem to be compatable. Am I right in
thinking that this older card predates compatabilty with the new type
monitors?
(I am still running win 98) Advice would be much appreciated

Can't see why it shouldn't work. You'd think a new monitor would be able to
handle any refresh rate at any resolution that card would do.

The monitor was faulty.. I brought the monitor into work where I have also
have a IIYAMA screen..
I had similar trouble with it, which basically was the screen turned it self
off within a second, my thinking
that it was the card , now seems unfounded. I have a new monitor on order,
I hope I have better luck.
