ATI vs. Sapphire 2D quality

I have 2 PCs: one with an ATI X850 Pro AGP and the other with a Sapphire
X1900 GT PCI-e. I notice that the 2D quality of the X850 Pro is
significantly better on both of my LCD monitors (NEC 1980FXi 19" and SONY
P230B 23"). The X850 Pro provides ultra crisp, sharp text, compared with the
X1900 GT. The difference is really noticeable for black text. With the X850,
black text looks purely black, whereas with the X1900 GT, it looks
semi-black.

So, does the genuine ATI card provide better 2D, or is the X850 superior to
the X1900 when it comes to the 2D?

LOL your X850 is probably made by Sapphire! They make a number of cards for
ATI. JLC
