Has anybody bought one of those new TV Pro cards yet? I've never had a TV
tuner card, and am thinking of trying this one. Thought I'd check here for
reviews first.
Got one direct from ATI last week. Much better than the Wonder VE
which I had for a bit before returning. I'm using it to capture
satellite via RCA/IN on the special input adapter that's included, and
cable signal via coax.
Picture quality is much improved. I found that replacing my RCA video
lines with a higher quality premium line improved things even more.
I've been experimenting with different software. MMC 8.2 ships with
the unit. It's not bad, but a resource hog. Viewing screen is really
configurable.
Tried Snapstream.........not impressed.
Cyberlink Power VCR II....better live video signal than MMC, but some
errors when trying to record at higher resolutions.
InterVideo WinDVR3......best live video and recorded at any setting
fine.
At a loss to explain why the MMC's signal is the worst of the lot. I
would have thought live video would not have varied as much as it did
from app to app. I really like the desktop features of MMC, but
WinDVR is far and away the best for viewing and recording.
