ATI TV instability

Back in March, I upgraded from Cat4.1/MMC8.8 to Cat4.3/MMC8.9 (after using
the ATI uninstall utility). Thereafter, when I ran the TV (All-in-Wonder
9800Pro), my computer would crash every half hour or so (WinXP SP1, all
updates installed; p4 2.8GHz HT; 1GB DDR-SDRAM, Intel D865GBX built-in
audio). Uninstalling and reinstalling the ATI software did not help. So I
reverted to 4.1/8.8, and the computer returned to its previous rock-solid
stability.

Yesterday, I installed XP SP2. Everything was running fine, so I decided
today to try the latest ATI software (Cat4.7/MMC9.1). The instability while
using the TV immediately returned. I reverted to 4.1/8.8 again, and
everything is fine once more (even with AGP Fast Write enabled).

Has anyone else had this problem with the post-Cat4.1 software? Any idea
what causes the problem?

sp2 is full of AIW bugs. I lost everything with my 9800 and sp2.
Oddly enough everything that's an upgrade has seemed to fall apart. catalyst
4.7, XP pro sp2
and fwiw: at the ATI site I think you'll find that the 1 gig memory [and other
items ie: Large HD [mine is 125 gig] and a few other items are sources of
problems with the new AIW drivers and stuff.
I figure it'll be another 6 months to a year b4 anyone has fixes that work with
my setup.
