I am sending this message again even though someone apparently answered my
post in another section. I could not find that thread at all. So here we go
again. Please be gentle.

I cannot set my computer to standby at all and I have never been able to do
so. I receive the following message when I try:

"The device driver for the ATI Technologies, Inc. 3D Rage Pro AGP 2X device
is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all
applications and try again. If the problem persists you may need to update
this driver.

I tried to update the driver, it did not work. If you are replying to this
for the second time, again I apologize. I just hope I can find my again.

thx in adv.

It's an ATI issue. You need to contact them for updated drivers (if
available).

The ATI Rage Pro is old, and you should consider replacing it with something
that has better support..

Thanks for your replies. All of you.

I would love to get rid of it, but what should I replace it with? This is
the driver that runs my monitor as well.

Look here..

http://www.compusa.com/products/products.asp?N=200105..

You may want to check with the motherboard manufacturer for compatibility
issues re. some cards.. other than that, all or any would put up a better
display that you have right now..
