I have the same card, and was getting the blue screen as well. If i try to
use the wdm drivers that come with vista, it boots to a black screen, and i
cant see anything. If i try to force the drivers that came with the cd, i get
a blue screen.. the download drivers actually do seem to work. You do need to
make sure that you remove all previous ati software before you do your driver
install.
Another thing, tho the driver install seems to be working, all it appears
to be doing is adding the driver to the system for use, and upon reboot, the
system still seems to be using the wdm drivers. I ended up going in to device
manager, update driver software, browse my computer for driver software, Let
me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, and that should pull up
a box list with 3 drivers, one with a green envelope and driver name, and 2
with a white envelope and green checkmark. the green envelope is the one you
want to select. if that isnt there, then you need to hit have disk and point
to the directory that the driver package created, usually
C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ati_catalyst_rc1_vista_32bit\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF\B_36105
This driver works for normal 2D stuff, but when it comes to 3d gaming,
flightsimx the bottom half of the screen is all light blue, and on everquest
2 the bottom half displays black, tho certain block seem to come thru at
times, and text items still show up. makes me think there is still some dx
tweaking on ati's side that needs to take place.
