Hi!

I was wondering if anybody else had the same problem and
was perhaps able to fix it.

My ATI Radeon AIW 9000 pro card installs without any
problems on my P4 1.8Ghz machine that has an ASUS P4T-E
motherboard and the WinXp operating system. However, when
I go to re-boot, the display freezes after the splash
screen. The screen is almost completely black with the
exception of a little bit of garbage at the top of the
screen.

The card does not seem to want to work with the Catlyste
drivers. I am able to get to run only with the generic
windows drivers. This is a problem because none of the
advance features of the card work.

How can I get my ATI Radeon AIW 9000 pro to work with my
machine that has XP and an ASUS P4T-E motherboard? Any
suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I had a problem similar, the only i found was to install
the 3.2 catalyst driver. I read that many games wont work
unless you get back to 3.2

Other possible solution was to install the Smartguard
(found on the ATI site) wich could give you the
possibility to disable Fast Write option wich is in many
case the real problem..

Good luck

Hello!

I think you should try to roll back to 3.2 catalyst
driver. Can be little hard to find but i know it can fix
your problem cause i had the same problem. Another way
you could fix it is by downloading and
installing "Smartguard" from the ATI site wich is useful
to disable the Fast write option... Not sure on this info
but I saw on many boards the this could be the cause.
