ATI radeon 7500

I hope someone out there can help me with this problem. I have a radeon 7500
card on my computer with a asus motherboard and a athlon 1600 cpu. I have
256 memory., a 17 inch KDS monitor, I have a annoying problem which i have
not been able to correct. I think it must be my video card. Some of the
images that i download off the internet are garbled. It is hard to explain,
but i will try. the colors are off, and the images look like part of a
puzzle. parts of the images are in the wrong places. The images that are on
my computer( from my camera or scanner , are fine.) I have changed my modem,
reinstalled IE 6. I have a virus program, pc-cillin installed, so i know i
do not have a virus. I have weather bug, and it is garbled too. some of my
ebay images are like that too. I have tried to correct it , but short of
changing the video card, i do not know what else to do. I have also
reinstalled my video card driver, and set the acceleration slider all the
way down and nothing is helping.

I seem to have a dim recollection of reading about this issue before. I
believe the problem was with the VIA chipset on the motherboard, though it
was a rather rare complaint.

Download the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers from www.viatech.com, and for your
video card (with the matching control panel) from www.ati.com.

Uninstall your current ATI drivers and control panel using the add-remove
software control panel in Window. Reboot into standard VGA, ignore the
Windows prompt to install new drivers, and then runn the ATI applets to
install first the drivers and then the control panel.

Reboot again, and then run the VIA 4-in-1 installation program, making sure
you check the AGP driver and install in it "Turbo" mode for 4X.
