I'm trying to install a IBM Thinkpad T60p with Windows Vista. I found a
Microsoft Certified driver for this Graphic adapter and installed it.
When I try to restart the computer it start to boot, but at once Vista
starts to run the screen turns of, and everything freeze. This happends every
time.

After that I downloaded the Driver that IBM supplies for this graphic
adapter, and now it boots up, but keep on saying that "ATI R300 Graphic
adaper have failed, and have been reloaded". There seems to be no way to get
this to work.

Any suggestions here?

I assume the driver you downloaded from IBM is this one:

I would try this. In Control Panel\Programs and Features uninstall the ATI
driver. (Windows will then automatically provide you a temporary generic
driver, so that you can continue to see your screen). If the ATI driver is
not listed in Programs and Features, use Device Manger to uninstall the
driver. Before re-installing the driver downloaded from the above site, run
Msconfig, and, on the Startup and Services tabs, uncheck any entry having to
do with an ATI file, (from ATI Technologies). Apply, OK. On the Services
tab, checking "Hide all Microsoft services" will help you narrow things
down. Then re-install the new driver. Any service or startup item that the
driver needs will be re-configured.
