I have clean installed windows with a ASUS ATI A9250 Graphics card and it
installed the ATI graphics drivers from Microsoft, I then downloaded the
latest drivers from the ASUS website and also the ATI website and have been
having trouble installing them, I get a message saying something about "Try
to setup your display with a standard VGA driver before running setup"
I have tried everything and nothing seems to work

Uninstall the ATI driver, the machine should then revert to a standard
VGA.

Right click on the desktop, select Properties, then Settings, then
Advanced, then Adaptor, then Properties, then Driver and finally
uninstall.

It's not reverting after installation, just pops up with the add new
hardware box

Which means it has discovered your ATI card, cancel the add hardware,
install the ASUS drivers and reboot. You should then get the add
hardware wizard and follow the prompts.

Take a look in in device manager, under properties it didn't somehow
become disabled did it? If it shows, Do not use in any hardware
configuration, enable it.

Yes after installing the drivers it became disabled with a red X and when I
enable it again it pops up with the new hardware wizard again give me a code
10 I think it was

Code 10 Error just means the operating system had a problem allocating
resources for the Device. You may have a IRQ conflict with another device on
your system. In the cards properties click on the Resources tab. Click set
configuration manually and try to assign it a different IRQ number. Or if
you have something on your computer you don't use, such as a serial port.
You could disable it in the bios and free up an IRQ or two.
