ATI Gone Sleazy

Resorting to cheap ads in the Catalyst Control Center is a piss off. I was
disgusted when I loaded the newest Catalyst Control center to see an upgrade
ad. Pretty sleazy to advertise this way.

When you pay money for a product you don't want it in your face nickel and
diming you at every turn, every time you use it. If this does not stop I'll
look elsewhere next time I am in the video card or motherboard market and I
will actively encourage others to boycott this sort of company as well.

How would you like it if your navigation screen on your car had an ad for a
better upgraded model every time you started your car.

Whether or not it can be disabled is not the point here.

1. CCC remembers the last tab you visited. Under normal use you shouldn't
see the "welcome" tab.
2. As you are well aware, there exist much better alternatives to the
sluggish CCC. Avoid it altogether.
3. One fewer ATi buyer -> less demand -> cheaper cards for everyone else.
:-)

Why not email the catalyst driver feedback, and list your complaints. I
agree, adverts, slow loading times for CCC, and that nigh on useless car
driving down the road, what the hell use are they? I was glad to see that
Nvidia has released an equally crap interface in the last set of drivers i
looked at.

As one that isn't well aware, can you enlighten me please?

ATI Tool Tray. First of One told me about this program a couple of weeks
ago and I'm really enjoying not having to deal with CCC anymore, and it's
more robust then the old Control Panel. Just do a Google search and it will
come right up. It's a very handy little program that does just about
everything the CCC does, and it's not a system hog. You can even OC your
card with it if you want to.

Unfortunately, that's the only thing ATi Tray Tools can't do, and it's the
only reason I'm using CCC, as much as I despise it.

No problem, I just will leave CCC installed and use it for Crossfire,
Tray Tools work perfect for everything else, including Hotkeys..
finally.

Thanks!
