Barry Watzman said:There is no PCI express card that is as low-powered as the
8500 was. If you were happy with the 8500, try a card
based on the X1300, which is relatively inexpensive and
still reasonably powerful. I don't know if they are still
available or not, but Circuit City had the ATI X1300 cards
(both AGP & PCI Express versions) available for $119 with
a $40 rebate (e.g. $79 after rebate). If you don't go
with the actual ATI built card, the MSI RX1300 Pro is a
very good card and is under $100. If you want to move up
from there, there are some good cards based on the NVidia
GeForce 7600 for under $200 ... eVGA's 7600 GS is a good
choice, it's passively cooled (no fan) and it's only
slightly over $100. The eVGA 7600GT is more powerful but
is closer to $200.
