Every time I install ATI drivers (with or without the MMC) I find that the
Soundstorm audio (SPDIF coaxial out) on my Abit NF7-S motherboard is
disabled and I can't play any songs (MP3s) in the Windows media player which
is what I have always used. (I run the spdif out into my home theater DD 5.1
receiver)
Per the ATI info, I no longer need the ATI "audio line out" dongle into the
"audio line in" on the motherboard but, I have tried it both ways with same
results. I use the 5.6 drivers but I also believe dropping the line to the
onboard Soundstorm on the mobo is only related to an analogue signal.
So for the only way to restore the digital audio output has been to delete
the ATI audio codec's in Device Manager.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks
