Yep, and they still kept the retarded support site, except it now has bright
green text in place of the red.

Yeh, wish they had left the colors along. I am afraid this AMD - ATI
merger is going to screw up what used to be a helpful website.

Still looking for a good replacement for my AIW 9800 agp card. Kind of
looking at the Nvidia chipped 7800GS from BFG or eEVGA

I was in for a shock last night myself. I went to ATI's site to look for
some demo's and I was really put off by the new colors and layout. At lest
they should have left the ATI part of the site red and laid out like it used
to be. It took me awhile but I finally did find the demo page
http://tinyurl.com/y3nej4
Kinda upsets me that AMD has put up the ATI products like after thought.
Even on the ATI demo page it just has the AMD logo at the top. The site
needs more work that's for sure. JLC

I hate to say it but I may have to go to Nvidia and I really like ATI's
Lava Caves Demo for the 9800 cards, don't think it will work with Nvidia
cards as I think they wrote it to only work with 9800 cards, hope I'm
wrong, its a terrific screensaver. JH

It works well on my 7900gt.

Bill, if you mean the Lava Caves demo works good on your 7900 that is
good news, that is a mesmerizing demo, its fun to just watch its various
changes. Jack

I don't think the ATi support site was helpful at all, compared to old
layout (circa 2003). Past driver releases are a hassle to find, bookmarking
is difficult, and some functions require login. AMD has nothing to lose by
making changes to it...

It's as good as it gets, aside from the Gainward 7800GS+, which is a 7900GT
in disguise, but costs a kidney and has to be imported from Europe.

What site was that? Certainly not ATI.COM...

Bill. Your right on that Lava caves demo. Installed a BFG 7800GS card
yesterday and my lava caves screensaver/demo is running fine. Must say
that BFGS package manuals etc are pitiful compared to what ATI had
supplied with my AIW9800. Will keep the AIW in case this new card ever
goes kaput. Jack
