I have this card (ATI all-in-winder 3d rage pro) from many, many years
ago and would like to use it as a second card, just for capturing TV
and video. I have never been able to hook the card up as a secondary
one. It either wants to be my main display card -- or it shows up with
an exclamation point in a little yellow circle in my device manager.
With all the time that has passed (years) since the last time I tried
it, you'd figure there'd be some kind of workaround for this. Is
there? Can I use my ATI all-in-winder 3d rage 4mb pro as a secondary
card to watch TV .. and record the odd home movie from video onto my
computer.

I have a P4 3.0GHz with 480 MB Ram, running winxp home SP2.

My display card came attached to my motherboard. In my BIOS, I
selected AGP as my first display card (so ... the motherboard one is
used.)

As I said, I really just want the ATI to be useable for watching TV
etc. It's outdated as a main video display card these days.

Thanks,
Caesy

It is probably not possible. Many old motherboards are either hard-wired or
set up in BIOS to automatically disable the onboard video if you add in a
graphics card. Exceptions are the new nVidia nForce and ATi IGP boards.

The AIW side of the card only works when it is the primary one. My Radeon AIW is the same way. ://
