What would be the best driver for 9800 pro on a WinME computer? The MB is a
Intel 865 pearl P4 running (or trying to) WinME. It seems the video drivers
are giving me problems and it seems the chipset drivers are having a problem
also. I had XP on the same MB (different HD) and all was well. I upgraded
the MB and video card for my computer and I'm building the P4 computer for
my grandkids.

Thanks
Randy

Use the latest drivers (Catalyst 5.9). As for Intel chipset drivers, some
newer releases on Intel's web site no longer support older chipsets. Make
sure the set you use supports i865.

Man, time flies!! Seems like yesterday we were saying "I'm building one for
my "kids" instead of grandkids. <bg>

the 5.9 are not for WinME but only XP right? As for the chipset drivers I'm
using the ones made for the 865 Pearl. I think the problem is Winme as I had
no problems when I was using the computer running XP but I didn't want to
buy another $90 copy of XP for the grandkids to play games. <g> I'll keep
trying. I have 3 more days vacation left. :(

Is that the academic upgrade edition? Much cheaper.
If you have a retail copy you could probably activate a second copy online
if it's been a while since it was first activated (120 days I believe).

5.9 is the latest for WinME. XP is already up to 6.1. Go to support.ati.com,
click on "advanced search" and enter article# 737-1160.

I take it you downloaded the chipset driver's off your mobo manufacturer's
web site, right? Use the Intel reference drivers. Just make sure the driver
release includes your i865 chipset. XP is newer, so it has more recent
chipset drivers preloaded.
