Can you get DirectTV on this card to record shows, etc?

I read it has 125 channel tuner, so does that mean it only gets regular
"cable"?

Thanks in advance!

You can use it with a DirecTV receiver but it can't decode DirecTV
without one. I don't think that DirecTV is particularly anxious to
support this kind of configuration so don't bet on it ever happening.

A DirecTivo is a better bet but read up on Tivo hacking first so you
have an idea of which model to go for.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I meant, if I hook my DTV reciever to this
video card, then I can record that.

I guess what I meant was does the Guide + support DTV?

You can record but you have to either set the DTV receiver to change
channels at the desired time separately from the PC starting to record.
Don't recall if GuidePlus has a way to provide listings for DTV, but
TitanTV <http://www.titantv.com> does. To use it with an ATI board you
need to also get UltimateGuide

change the channel on the DirecTV box under PC control but it involves
going beyond the ATI multimedia center unless the newest version adds
this feature (haven't played with it yet)--you can find links to the

Checkout www.snapstream.net and their Beyond TV3 product. I use, and love,
it. I am pretty sure that you can connect your PC to your DirectTV box with
a serial cable (if your DirectTV box supports it) and BeyondTV WILL change
the channels.

Whose privacy policies? Titantv? UltimateGuide? Girder? UIRT2?
DirecTV? Tivo? Somebody else? And why?
