Hello,

I have a AIW 9700 pro, and i just replaced the heatsink and fans on it
because my old fan died. now after doing so, i seem to be having a lot
of green pixelation wherever the mouse moves. if i move the mouse
across the task bar, it turns green, and it then stays that way... it
seems like when the computer first turns on there are green bars
running up and down it.

could anyone tell me what this is??

i have a p4 2.2 ghz, 2gb ram, 4 HD's, and the replacement on the video
card was a kingwin vga heat pipe cooler of of new egg, it got good
reviews, so i am wondering if the card is being bent out of shape too
much and causing this effect.. i have no idea..

Possibly the new hs/f assembly is not seating on the GPU properly. Possibly
the thermal compound is not applied evenly. Possibly the failed fan damaged
the GPU.

.... or memory. That last one is most likely.

Why would memory go wrong after a fan replacement? Anything's possible but
unlikely. Probably, the new fan and heatsink assembly was not installed
properly.

I wasn't clear. What I meant was, heat damage to memory.
This is a widely reported issue with the 9700/9800, the cards
at stock speed are already close to their temp tolerances.

Because it got zapped with static electricity while you were
installing the new fan replacement.
